When I walked into Oxfam in Leicester a few weeks before my holiday I spotted a midnight blue velvet Henry Holland dress but unfortunately it was too small. However, I then found no less than SEVEN dresses scattered around the store! I may or may not have tried them all on, and came away with three for around £6 each!
The first one is this shirt dress covered all over in little pandas! I knew that I would be able to wear this all year round layered with leggings and long tops. When I was in Ibiza though I simply paired it with my white pumps from new look and I was on my way. It was so comfy, but I had to wear it with a good handful of talc on the thighs to prevent the chub rub!
The second dress is this pale yellow cross strap number. I was told for so many years that as a girl with pale skin I shouldn't wear pale colours, the colour wouldn't flatter me blah blah blah. I found that this dress had such a gorgeous print. I also wasn't at all concerned about the fact that this dress accentuated my broad shoulders (I told you this was the best holiday I have ever been on.) I paired these with my tan wedges, again from New Look ... not sponsored I wish it was! They do the best shoes ever!
Lastly is this lemons and limes dress! I have to admit, that sadly I think I will be selling this one as it is slightly too big on the boobs and the straps kept slipping down BUT I wore it on our last night when we went for a 7 course tasting menu and it looked and felt lovely and dressy! It is fully lined and the 50s style is exactly what I go for in dresses!
I hope this post may inspire you to have a look in charity shops as you never know what you will find!
